Jeff Wright brings more than 30 years of experience to the Lady Dukes program as a coach, athlete, and mentor. A 2024 Washington USSSA Hall of Fame inductee and national slowpitch champion, Jeff has coached youth and competitive teams across the country. He believes in coaching with purpose, building confident athletes, and shaping team culture that’s grounded in effort, unity, and pride.

Coaching and Athletic Career

Jeff has spent decades guiding athletes across softball, baseball, and youth sports. His coaching experience includes:

  • Lady Dukes Softball Club – Klippert – 14U Head Coach

  • Little League All-Stars Coach – Committed to community-based player development
  • Former Little League Board Member – Supporter of inclusive and accessible youth sports
  • 30+ teams coached in fastpitch, slowpitch, and baseball

As a player, Jeff’s resume is equally impressive:

  • Inducted into the 2024 Washington USSSA Hall of Fame as a first-ballot selection
  • NSA Softball World Champion
  • Co-Ed Washington State Slowpitch Champion
  • Member of the Washington State team honored by the USSSA Hall of Fame
  • Competed at the national Major level in slowpitch softball

His experience on the field fuels how he coaches today. He knows what it takes to win, but more importantly, he knows how to help players fall in love with the process.

Education

Jeff attended the University of Washington, where he was a varsity athlete on the UW Men’s Tennis team. Competing in the Pac-10 Conference at the Division I level helped shape his competitive mindset and his belief in showing up with discipline, leadership, and intention—every day.

Coaching Philosophy

Coach Jeff leads with passion and purpose. He creates an environment where athletes are expected to work hard, support one another, and have fun competing together. His philosophy centers around accountability, focus, and team-first energy. He pushes players to be more than athletes—he wants them to be leaders, teammates, and great people off the field.

One of his favorite mottos: “If I’m only remembered as a ball coach, I haven’t done enough.”
