16u Shine on Day 1 at Hogan Park

The Lady Dukes 16U team opened their fall tournament this past weekend at Hogan Park at Russell Road, showing grit, energy, and plenty of bright spots through three games on Saturday. While the day ended with a tough loss, the first tournament action of the season proved that this group is ready to compete at a high level.

Game 1: Rally Sparks Opening Win

Lady Dukes 16U Cabato started the day strong with a 4–3 victory over Snohomish Shock 16U Beard.

After falling behind early, the team battled back in the second inning behind a two-run triple from Marley Chiasson and an RBI single from Sarah Cody to take the lead. Anna Iovino added insurance with a run-scoring single in the third.

On the mound, Addyson Roy kept the team in control, striking out four in three innings of work before handing the ball to Charlotte “Charlie” White in relief. At the plate, Madalyn Farwell and Julianna “Julz” Orvold each collected two hits to pace the offense.

Game 2: Offensive Outburst

In their second matchup, Lady Dukes delivered a statement with a 10–4 win over Pacific NW Fury 16U – Gillespie.

A huge six-run second inning set the tone, highlighted by a double from Jayna Anderson, RBI hits from Morgan Taylor and Sarah Cody, plus aggressive baserunning that kept the pressure on. The momentum carried into the third when Anna Iovino blasted a home run to center. Peyton Miller came in to close things out, securing the win.

Cody and Taylor each drove in two runs, while Sydnnie Imlay anchored the defense with eight plays and no errors, showcasing the team’s steady glove work.

Game 3: Tough Finish Against Ladyhawks

The day closed with a challenging matchup against WA Ladyhawks 16U ‘27/‘28 Dorgan, who used a big third inning to pull away. Despite a rough outing, Lady Dukes showed resilience and stayed together as a team — valuable experience that will pay off in future tournaments.
